Our Mission Statement

At The Elite Academy of Dance we pride ourselves on our open door policy where both children and adults from all backgrounds and experience are welcome. We have a very diverse group of talented young students and have a warm and inviting environment with friendly, approachable staff. We strive to nurture new talent irrespective of any financial difficulties that students or parents may have, through in house sponsorship whenever possible. We aim to encourage our students to be the best they can be, whether they wish for a career in performing arts or just take part for fun or fitness. We aim to invest all profits back into the school by constantly investing in further teacher training, improving our equipment and premises and providing sponsorships where necessary. Many of our staff work on a voluntary basis.

About the classes

The school caters for children from the age of 3 years and above and offers classes for children of all levels of dance. For pre-schoolers, we offer fun less structured classes which combine ballet, mime and music as an introduction to ballet dance

For children five years and above we offer the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing syllabus and examinations in Imperial Ballet, Tap Dance and Modern Theatre Dance. Working towards examinations gives pupils something to strive for as well as a sense of achievement.

We also offer acrobatics classes and follow the Associated Board Syllabus

About the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is one of the world’s leading dance examinations board. From Ballet to Ballroom, they cover the full spectrum of genres and for more than 100 years they have provided training for dance teachers and examiners, enabling them to enter their students for examinations, develop new techniques and spread the joy of dance.

Performance opportunities are a priority at The Elite Academy of Dance. We perform a show at the main theatre in Grantham bi-annually following a whole term's rehearsals, usually in the Autumn term. All students are encouraged to take part. The show is open for parents and the public to observe.

In addition to this we allow parents to watch lessons on the last week of every term, except during show rehearsals.

In 2011 we started to take part in the Imperial Classical Ballet Awards which are run by the ISTD. These are open for children who have gained exceptional results in their ISTD examination. It is at the teacher's discretion who attends the awards.

In 2013 we started to compete at festivals and gained two silver medals on our first attendance.
